Dear Shanell,

Things are going great! We did have lots of people to teach and now, in this new area, we have zilch! I guess we will have to work hard to get some. I got a speeding ticket on the 26th for $75. Lousy, huh.

Being a district leader is kind of a pain because I do a lot of running around for the district which costs lots of money in fuel. I want you to always know that I believe the church is true. I hear a lot of anti-Mormons ridiculing the church and it just shows me more and more that it's the only true church. No one kicks a dead dog!  I know President Benson is a prophet of God. Joseph Smith did see a vision. I love Jesus Christ for His sacrifice for us! "Greater love hath no man than he lay down his life for his friends". Christ did that. I love Him for it.

Thank you for all your support!

Dear Shanell,

We are still working hard out here and the Lord is teaching us patience! We haven't had a baptism this month. I guess if we continue to work hard and pray hard, we'll succeed, right. One of the sister missionaries here is named Sister Dwyer-Hunt. She used to be in the Sydney Mission, but apparently she got sent over here because she couldn't get along with anyone there. We have her in our district and we are the district leaders here. She never helps us do our shopping on the p-days. They have a car and we're on push-bikes and they wont' take us shopping so we have to carry groceries home on our push-bikes. What a laugh, huh. I just received a letter from our mission president saying that I should treat sister missionaries like queens. I would be glad to and I do. There seems to be a misunderstanding! Even my companion and her companion are having a tough time with her! President Wells kind of blames it on me though. Oh well. I guess its' a burden I must bear. I will be a better man after it's all done.

We have 4 new missionaries coming in next week! One of them is Elder Masle and he will be serving in the same mission as his sister. Weird, huh. His sister is still out here so they will both be in this mission at the same time. I hope I can train one of the new missionaries next week. Transfers are on the 25th so who knows what will happen.

Have a great week!

Dear Shanell,

Elder Adams and I work together very well. We have tough times, but we don't quit! We have lots to do and not much time so we're working hard.

The Snell's father, Ian, just received the Aaronic Priesthood on Sunday, February 9. It was so neat! We talked to a girl yesterday who just got baptized about 3 months ago and she just got into BIG trouble. She told us today that it is boring being "good". She met a member boy and apparently he has spent the night at her flat a couple times. She is already a single mother and is really having a tough time. I know that the church is true and that we are blessed when we follow the commandments!

We were teaching a family last night and they had their scriptures and we read some verses in the Bible and every one of some of the verses were different. They had 3 kinds of Bibles. The "Good News Bible", "The Living Bible", the "International Bible" and we had the "King James" version. I was so horrible to see how man has messed up the scriptures! It made me sick inside.

Well, this is the true church and President Benson is a prophet of God! Thanks for your support! You are super!

Love,
Elder Wallentine
