Dear Shanell,
Things are going great "down under". The missionaries have nicknamed me "Wally". Hey, guess who we saw on the conference edition of the Church News? Your dad and Ben! We get the Church News and magazines late here, but I was flipping through the conference edition and saw the picture of the congregation during the priesthood session and there they were! We get to watch conference the next Sunday and we get to watch the priesthood session tonight. I'm excited! I love stake conferences and general conference! This past Sunday was our stake conference. President Devere Harris spoke to us. He is so funny! He old a personal story of how he and his wife had just got married and all they had was $5. They had no car, and no other money. President Harris' dad asked how much money they had and then told them to go pay their tithing. He told them to go give it to their bishop that night. This was during the depression. They took the money to the bishop and then they had no money. The next morning a man knocked on their door and asked President Harris if he wanted to go to work. What a great example of exercising faith in a principle of the gospel! It strengthened my testimony in paying tithing. I know that when we keep the commandments, the Lord will look over us.
Elder Chapman is doing great! He just passed off his discussions with the assistants to the president so he is now a certified teacher. We went to a discussion with the sister missionaries last night and the Spirit was so strong! We bore our testimonies and the man felt it. It was so neat! It is the kind of experiences that make this worthwhile.
I appreciate your support!
Love,
Elder Wallentine
